Saskatchewan Rugby Board of Directors are happy to announce that Robin MacDowell will be leading our Boys U18 7s Program at the upcoming National 7s Championship on March 9-10th in Vancouver.

Robin is a former Canadian International with a wealth of experience in both the 15's and the 7's game. He has also played professional rugby in France and Italy. With over 23 years of coaching experience, he have coached all over Canada and most recently in Mexico where he was the women's national 7's coach, having had huge success leading them to an undefeated record in 2014 NACRA Championship (North American & Carribean Rugby Association) and coached them through their Olympic qualifiers in 2015.

Robin has helped to develop over 30 Canadian National Team athletes both men and women, as well as currently being a Talent ID Scout for Rugby Canada.

Robin has rounded out his coaching team with 2 time Provincial Champion Head Coach of Leboldus Boys Jered Kirkland (non travelling) and Team Manager from Saskatoon with Badgers Dakota Matthews.

With rugby 7's fresh off its debut at the 2016 Rio Olympics in Brazil this is a very exciting time for young rugby players across Saskatchewan to be able to compete at the Canadian Rugby Sevens National Competition. Saskatchewan is full of talented athletes and we will be looking to uncover some of these future stars.
