Congratulations to Moose Jaw’s David Jukes who has been inducted into the Moose Jaw and Districts Sports Hall of Fame for 2023.

From 1970 to 2010, Jukes established himself as a premier rugby player, coach, and administrator. David was named to the Saskatchewan provincial team from 1974-1987 and in 1980 he was named to the National team as an alternate.


Administratively, Jukes has spent countless hours supporting the community rugby program at the Barry MacDonald Rugby Field. He has been an executive member of both the Moose Jaw and Saskatchewan Rugby boards and has an award named after him: The Dave Jukes Award, for most outstanding junior forward.

Saskatchewan Rugby is seeking an individual to fill the position of Rugby Development Officer. The Rugby Development Officer is responsible to create a thriving development structure within the Province that supports the National Growth Strategy to develop grassroots rugby, grow participation and strengthen pathways for players, coaches and officials. The 3 Primary Functions for the position include: Growth Strategy – delivering the development and evolve the key concepts of the National Growth Strategy by broadening and diversifying the demographic interested in rugby, creating and expanding safe, accessible playing opportunities, promoting safe sport and long-term participation in rugby. Member Organization Development – committed to introducing and supporting our member organizations through growing capacity with tools and resources, training and education for volunteers, coaches and officials, taking assessments and leading change. Administration – has the technical skills necessary to contribute to the management, development and continued sustainability of rugby programming in Saskatchewan. This includes the ability to understand and contribute to strategic planning, communicate effectively with partners and experience managing volunteer committee structures and volunteers, keeping groups on track and working with groups to implement projects/programs. The Saskatchewan Rugby Union is seeking to recruit dynamic, engaged and qualified candidates to serve on our Board of Directors that embody our values, share our passion and want to help advance and strengthen our organization, the quality of our programs and the value to our memberships. We are currently seeking nominations for Directors for our Board of Directors. We are looking for individuals who have knowledge and understanding of the Saskatchewan Rugby Community, demonstrated leadership experience with strong network in your community. Directors will serve a three year term and be expected to attend and participate in all Sask Rugby Board meetings, commit to annual fundraising efforts and promotion as well as be actively involved in a standing committee. ”3 World Cups, reaching the semi final each time and the 5th women inducted into the Rugby Canada Hall of Fame” Chair of the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame Robb Elchuk announced today that Julie Foster has been inducted into the Saskatchewan Sport Hall of Fame Class of 2025. Julie is the first individual rugby player to be induced into the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame Museum.
