Sask Rugby would like to welcome its newest staff member, Andrew Shaw, to the position of Rugby Development Officer. Since moving from Ontario to Saskatchewan, Shaw has contributed to the rugby community as a club leader, match official, volunteer, and player. Shaw brings a wealth of experience in administration and sports development that make him an asset for grassroots development across the province. Starting in November, Shaw will be based out of Saskatoon in his new role. Feel free to reach out to Andrew at rdo@saskrugby.com.

New to Sask Rugby, the RDO position is designed to work with clubs and community programs to develop sustainable rugby in the province. RDO responsibilities include increasing recruitment, participation, and retention to grow our membership numbers, and developing tools and resources that support this growth. These responsibilities will be especially important for Sask Rugby as we navigate Return to Play for the 2021 season and gear up for Rugby Sevens inaugural Sask and Canada Summer Games competitions.

This position was made possible through a partnership with Rugby Canada as part of their push to ‘grow the game’ in community rugby. We appreciate the opportunity to add another dedicated member to our team and grow the sport of rugby in Saskatchewan.

Thank you to Rugby Canada, World Rugby, the Sask Rugby Hiring Committee and Board of Directors, as well as all applicants for the position.
